A U R O R A

Updated: Nov 24, 2019

My new collection AURORA is out! And I am thrilled! About 2 months ago, I got this hit of inspiration (straight from the universe/divine) to create a collection of paintings inspired by the Northern Lights.

I knew it would be named "AURORA" after the aurora borealis. So aligned! I knew the colour palate right away. It was like I'd already painted these paintings, and knew how every piece of this amazing puzzle would seamlessly fit together.

The dictionary definition: An aurora, sometimes referred to as polar lights, northern lights, southern lights, is a natural light display in the Earth's sky, predominantly seen in the high-latitude regions. Auroras are the result of disturbances in the magnetosphere caused by solar wind.

Which is all fun and all...

But to me, the northern lights is all about: connection, magic, beauty, wonder, nature, healing and peace.

I’ve always been awed by the northern lights. For years I dreamed of seeing them. Googling photos of them. And have always had it on my travel list to go to Iceland or Alaska, stay in an igloo in the forest and get the chance to see them.

This collection is inspired by them, by nature and it's constant beauty. Creating these paintings felt like I was coming home. It was so relaxing and easy, and I feel so connected to each piece.

Seven unique, gorgeous, gems representing how nature makes me feel:

lit up

energized

happy, fulfilled

healed

connected

calm

relaxed

Two months ago I started listening to a guided meditation by Kathrin Zenkina, which starts off with visualizing being in a calming/safe forrest, under an indigo sky.

For days, I did the meditation, picturing myself sleeping in a lush, safe, spruce-smelling forest, looking up at a million stars, feeling safe and warm (in a sleeping blanket and like a lot of thermals) knowing how supported I am, how safe and happy I am, feeling like I am exactly where I'm supposed to be. Happy, free, abundant, fulfilled.

And after days of feeling so good, the idea of this collection came in to my mind + heart, and flew out of me in about 4 weeks.

Each painting is laced with probably what’s now my favorite colour palate: gold, deep teal, dark greens, white, magenta, black, and cool blues. The combination of these colours have been lighting me up for weeks. I might be a tad obsessed!

The collection includes (all pictures below, in order it's listed, clickable links on each title):

"R A I N I N G B L I S S" Size: 16x20 inches

"M A G N E T I C S K Y" Size: 24x18 inches

"A N A N D" Size: 24x18 inches (Translation: bliss/happiness, Pronounced a:nənd̪)

"I C E L A N D" Size: 12x12 inches

"S T A R S A T D A W N" Size: 12x16 inches each (2 individual paintings sold as a set)

I have always loved nature. I love being outside, I love the smell of leaves and trees, the feels, the warmth of the sun and how shiny and pretty it is, the breeze.

To me, the beauty in nature can't be surpassed. And that includes us, humans, we are so connected to and apart of nature. And that has certainly been an inspiration for this collection, but there's more.

Over the last two months, I've felt more connected to myself, to life, to my own heart. And this collection represents this stage of my life, and how much self love, connection and fulfillment I feel everyday. It's such a transformation phase of my life, I feel like I'm changing everyday. I'm growing so much, expanding into the person I've always wanted to be. And life just feels perfect more often than it feels imperfect.

I truly feel in my heart that we are all here to live the most amazing life.

We are here to thrive

We are here to enjoy

We are here to feel good

We are here to laugh a lot

We are here to have fun

We are here to amazed

We are here to feel bliss daily

And the more I focus on the good, the more I focus on what my heart + body wants, the happier I feel and the better my life gets. This is the energy that's infused into this collection.

I'm so grateful to get to share it with you, and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Love,

Hemali
